As some of you will already know as a bunch of you have been participating, Rusty has created a special world on MineSquish where our players can build game assets for a little platformer videogame he's making for the community. This post will have information about the game world and guidelines to follow when building.
WHERE CAN I PLAY THE GAME?
You can play a prototype (an early concept version) of the game here, just to see what kind of game it will be: http://mc.indiesquish.com/sg/
Eventually there will be downloadable versions of the game, and you'll see the game on that page evolving as Rusty does work on it.
HOW TO GET THERE:
WHAT TO BUILD:
Anything! The theme of the game is 'reality got messed up', so there's no strict theme to follow; you can build anything in any style! You can build monsters, weapons, platforms (the section of ground that the character will jump on), backgrounds (the walls that will appear behind the platforms), decoration objects (things the character will need to jump over or duck under).
HOW BIG TO BUILD:
You can see the size of the platforms and the size of the main character near the spawn point. Follow the size of the main character for a guide. If you're building monsters, scale them to the size of the character (for example, if you're building a boss, you might want it to be a bit bigger than the main character).
OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS:
When your build is finished, put a sign in front of it that says 'done' so that Rusty knows it's ready to be imported into the game. When he's done that, we'll erase your build from the world just to keep things clean and orderly and to free up more space for other builds. So if you've finished building something and notice a few days later that it's gone, don't panic!
Not everything will make it into the game - we'll be choosing the things that look best in the game world, and it's possible that not *everything* will make it in, but we'll try our best to make everything work.
