Redstone For Beginners:

Postby Aminotreal » Thu Apr 23, 2015 2:23 am

I noticed that there wasn't any redstone help, or topics at all in this section of the forum. So I thought I would post the links to some redstone tutorials and forum pages. I would have just posted a tutorial myself here but I had some trouble with uploading images.
If you need help with anything I can post an image to show you how to do something :).

Congrats AMininecraftMaster on building a piston door!
Remember that your not terrible at redstone. No one is. Just because you haven't used it much or you take a while to learn it doesn't mean that your terrible. Not everyone is perfect at redstone, but everyone can be great with it!

If you still don't believe me, here is proof:
- Computers can logically design circuits like redstone in real life.
- When you were learning to talk, you did something no computers can do anywhere near as well as you can.
- You and everyone other human who can communicate (speaking and writing etc) had to learn something complex like talking which computer just
can't manage yet.
- Scientists say that the hardest thing you will ever probably learn is walking and talking.
- Compared to that learning redstone is nothing.

So, you and everyone else reading this is NOT terrible at redstone!

I made an enchanting room with an enchantment level selector, using a feather in a frame.

Each time you turn the feather, some bookshelves are pushed up next to the enchantment table, up to 15 bookshelves.
selection lvl is 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, which convert to (in max lvl per slot) :

(2 6 8), (3 7 9), (4,9,12), (5,11,15), (6,13,18), (7,15,21), (8,17,24), (10,21,30)

I wanted to put this enchanting room at spawn on sihnon, but players couldn't "use" the feather.

I will post some pictures of the design here later if you are interested

I would certainly be interested. :D I've seen it in game. It's quite interesting. But I didn't want to tear it up to figure it out.
